This is an introduction to soccer and sports socialization. Children play on a field appropriate for their age with no goalie. Teams practice for 20-30 minutes before each game and a size 3 ball is used. Coaches officiate while teaching children during the course of games.
Children in this division start to learn many of the rules of soccer. Teams practice one night a week for one hour. Children learn throw-ins and corner kicks, along with a modified goal kick. They play on a field appropriate for their age with a goalie and a size 4 ball is used. The official(s) take an active role in coaching as well as enforcing the rules.
Emphasis is placed on skill development and learning the rules of the game. Teams practice one night a week for one hour. They play with a size 4 ball.
This division continues to emphasize skill development and the importance of teamwork.

Anderson YMCA has an outdoor league at Davis Park ( 4507 Nichol Ave, Anderson, IN 4601 ). This league has been running for several years and has four fields running at the Park during game days. Practices are during the week according to the coaches preferred time.

Cheerleading offers the perfect opportunity for kids to develop self-reliance and self-confidence on an individual level while stressing the importance of teamwork within a cheer squad. Cheerleaders will learn basic skills, chants, cheers, jumps, and stunts while experiencing performances in front of a crowd. Cheerleaders will perform and cheer during youth basketball league games. Cheer shirts and pompoms are provided to participants. .

The Pendleton YMCA offers a basketball program for all ages through middle school for both boys and girls and is designed for players of all skill levels. Our goal is to teach the great game of basketball in an environment where teamwork, sportsmanship, fun and love for the game are emphasized. Registration begins in September. Practices begin in November with games beginning in December and ending in February.

Lapel youth soccer is a new addition to the Pendleton Soccer Leagues. Lapel youth soccer will be located at Trinity Life Center (5900 S.R. 13 South, Pendleton, IN 46064). This youth soccer league encourages children to learn the skills based on their age level and grow to become better athletes. Children will be given a shirt/jersey, but will need to bring their own shorts, shin guards and cleats. Trinity United Methodist will provide devotionals each week for the children before game time.
