Free access to youth development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs.

Military Membership

The Military Membership is available to service members currently serving that fall into one of the program categories:

  • Families of deployed Title 10 Army National Guard and Reservist in any military branch
  • Active duty families assigned to newly established joint bases created by the Base Realignment and Closure process
  • Title 10 Active duty independent duty personnel (Families or single)
  • Relocated spouses/dependent children of deployed Title 10 Active Duty personnel

Respite Child Care

With one parent is away, the majority of responsibilities often fall on the shoulders of the remaining caregiver. In partnership with the Armed Services and the Department of Defense, participating YMCAs offer child care in a safe and nurturing environment so parents have more time for themselves. Respite child care is available for infants up to 12 years of age.

FAQs/Help

The initiative will fund the cost of memberships only. For more information on membership eligibility requirements, visit DOD Military Outreach Initiative. Any YMCA fee-based activities will not be included. As always, with the YMCA, scholarships are available for all programs and services.

Military personnel on leave are welcomed into the Madison County YMCA on a day-to-day basis at no charge for a period of up to two weeks. Leave paperwork must be presented along with a valid picture I.D. card.

The Armed Services YMCA has partnered with YMCAs, as well as national and independent fitness centers nationwide, to offer service members and families free access to fitness centers. The Military Outreach Initiative gives service members and military families extra support and access to vital resources that promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. It’s another way of giving back to those who dedicate themselves to serving our country.
